I just wanna know if its ok for me to install half-life on me work and home machines and then play TFC online on 'em?

Obviously i wont be using the machines at the same time, but for legal reasons do i need to buy two copies of half life?

Can i get away with just the one?

Help!... i love TFC and wanna continue playing at work (yes folks they pay me to play--- utopia-tastic!

technically i think it is illegal unless you uninstall one first but who on earth is gonna bother buying another one. I mean come on. Technically if u read the back of videos it is illegal to watch them in schools or oil rigs but who cares?

The games companies will have no proof what so ever that you havent uninstalled it first and wont act anyway. They are more concerned with people copying CDs and selling them on.

I say just use the same disk. They r hardly gonna do anything

I soon will have 2 PC's linked on a hub and sharing a cable modem connection, My P3 450MHz running @ 504MHz with 256 MB SDRam and shitty ATI 16mb graphics and small 15" screen thingy will be my second PC once I get my my AMD 1.4Ghz, 512 MB DDRam, Geforce 2 64Mb, 19" screen etc etc ....

I was inquiring after practicality reasons, i dont give two hoots for the law (dont quote me on that people..).

Anyways, going back to the hub, daisy-chain thingy: we is setting up a LAN of 4-5 pcs. The slowest processor a P3500 and the fastest at 1.3GHz. Oh, and theres a 800MHz laptop in there too.

And is ASDL as good as they say it is or should i get somthing else?

Not sure I like the tone of this thread, but, in answer to Tokes first question, I use the same copy of HL and CS on my desktop at home and on my laptop, so I can play at work too.

We have a stonking connection at work (big petrochem company) but due to firewall, cant connect to games The answer, of course, is to connect a 56k via a fax outlet point, cheeky, but works rather well.
