Muddier + Muddier

I just wondered wether Mythic have investigated why after playing DAOC for long periods the game suffers immense slowdown. Which only relogging will fix. You feel like your character is walking through mud and the games actions are no longer as smooth.

I've heard all sorts of reasons -

The chat buffer fills up.

Different zones use different gfx sprites so changing locations over time fills up memory space.

Windows Page File gets filled up.

The program is memory hunger and after long periods your computer uses the Windows swap file more + more.

Any one shed any light on the sluggish subject ?

I read about this problem, but never encountered it myself.
not even when playing 12+ hours straight

if I rember correctly though, DAoC's handling of memory is far from optimal

I get this problem constantly. It happens under Windows ME, Windows 2000 and Windows XP, from what I've seen so far and on different specs of PC. Even typing in text there is a delay and panning the camera is jerky.

Relogging does indeed sort it.
