Thought I'd ask a question for a change ;)

I've got a friend who is now at uni, and it looks like the sys admins are actively blocking MSN messenger - does anyone know of any proxy methods or anything of that nature?

I use Lycos Anywhere at work, which allows users to port theyre MSN and Yahoo contacts across.

Works for me wher MSN dosnt. Also dosnt require any installation.

from what I know of your problems your network allowed the MSN transport, you just weren't able to install the app - does anyone know of any proxies? Perhaps using port 80... which they'll be leaving untouched?

This little program Socks2Http may be of help here.

Run it and it will set up a virtual sockserver server on your machine at ip 127.0.0.1 and set MSN or trillian to connect with socks4/5 proxy, ip:127.0.0.1, port: 1080.

Give that a try.
