Yeah, first few minutes were annoying. But it got a lot better.

It's entertaining throwaway pap, no more.

They've dumbed it down a lot for this season it seems.
yeah, i realised I was predicting a lot of what would be happening way earlier than I normally do on sherlock. I shouldn't be able to out-guess holmes!

Something about Molly's boyfriend though.....

Also loved the fact they used Benedict Cumberbatch's real mother & father

I enjoyed it. Not really fussed about the so-called "dumbing down", as the whole episode was obviously a set-up for the new series (Mary is clearly a wrong 'un - too clever by half). Shame the main plot device was a straight rip from V for Vendetta though.

Better then something coming out of the blue at the last minute, ruining the whole thought process.

"Ah yes we've been investicating this for a good week now, but look, suddenly there's an orphan child no one knew anything about with a bottle of poison in his medicine cabinet where we just happened to look for pain killers for a headache."

Just watched that bit again, and now I get it. Can't believe I didn't see it at the time, the way they are all looking him up and down

Also if you don't use the tube on a regular basis, you would never know, I didn't. And I bet the majority of people who do use a small section of it on a day in day out basis wouldn't have noticed either, as they don't use that section of the network

One question I do have; is it a legal requirement that all British iconic characters have to stand on top of Whitehall at some point?

Yes, there was bill passed in 1975

The episode this evening was absolute rubbish. Starting a story about six times, flashbacks, dream sequences and lots of other nonsense to confuse the viewer and hide the fact the story was paper thin. Embarrassing.

I liked the fact it came together at the end, which it what it usually does. And that we got to see a slightly softer side of Sherlock

I much prefer elementary it has a darker, ex addict Holmes, and Lucy liu doesn't hurt either. The Brit version seems very sanitised. He has no addictions and seems too happy by half. I always saw Sherlock as a tortured genius. He just comes across as smug to me in the UK Sherlock

Crap stories this series so far. Immense amount of padding. Its entertaining in a BBC light entertainment kind of way, but really not up to par with the first two series. Dumbed down a lot and Sherlock is now being written as a kind of detective version of Sheldon Cooper.

Mainly it gets by on the abilities of the actors but had hoped for more given that they only make 3 episodes a year. I did laugh at the various pratfalls but unless the third episode of series 3 really ups the quality it is time to stop making this.

Indeed it's a real shame, so we've got one episode now to see who we were dealing with at the end of the first episode, this will doubtless be a fudge.

That was more like it! And an episode written by Moffat, the only one this season.

Last episode was great. Some cracking dialogue, none of the sitcom crap - when it was funny it was because the dialogue was sharp.
