mouse sensitivity

sorry another noob question
i am struggling to find a good set up for ra3, q3 and threewave.
i have had a look in my config and at the mo have mouse sens on 24.5000 and mouse accel on 0, any good?
any suggestions would be appreciated.

How long's a piece of string?

Sensitivity is individual to each PC setup, and as such can be only good or bad to you specifically.

If you're comfortable with it then that's all that matters.

Hmmm, I like a low sensitivity for Quake 3 but a much higher one in CS. Guess it's all down to personal preference and whether you can pull off those 180* rails still without hitting something with your mouse hand

first thing before you play with the mouse setting - oh yes it's the quakers secret - what fov are you using - /cg_fov at the console, most ppl play using about 105 and the standard setting is 90. type any of the following at the console without the seta bit , but add a / to find your current settings, ie /sens press the tab key . mouse setting are ...........seta in_mouse "1"........seta cl_mouseAccel "xx ".........seta m_yaw "0.022"................seta m_pitch "0.022000" & /sensitivity "xx" ffa and ctf require a higher sens and or mouseAccel.

I play with an inverted mouse , i always have done for as long as i can remember (back in the Qtest days i think).

One tip for general mouse usage in Q3 i find is that if you are using XP you should turn off "Enhance Pointer Precision" under Pointer Options in the mouse config bit, when i have it running it generally fooks up my Q3 sensitivity.

PS: "Enhance Pointer Precision" is actually mouse acceleration, which M$ have in XP made a single, toggle, setting. Weirdos. It used to be three (low, med & high) but M$ in their infinite wisdom....

I turn it off anyway, cos as mentioned it has a tendency to screw up Q3 sens due to the way directinput works etc...
