I got a new pc and i am having a problem where i see my mouse cursor flickering when i press the mouselook button (default is Ctrl).. so wheni press it to change the camera position or generally move my char left or right the movment is really bad.. it skips etc.
I am not running any programs on the backround so i have no clue how i could fix this. Anyone got any ideas?

Close down MSN. For some reason its mouse/keyboard input conflicts with DX sometimes.

Believe me if its not MSN its a TSR of some kind that is trying to share the input with DX and its not likeing it.

That sounds about right, unfortunately, for me at least MSN isnt running in the background when i play games. In fact, the only thing running is Nod32 Anti Virus.

its most likey the too many fps bug caused by your new pc

once over smth like 66fps daoc doesnt like it so you get flicky cursor and also problems setting a grnd target.

the problem has been fixxed in the states with one of the last patches

afaik we will just have to put up with it until we get that patch

hmm, sounds about right. been noticing it since i got my pc upgraded, and usually in dungeons where fps is higher aswell, so looks like that's the one.
Hmm, strangest game... gets really choppy with lots of people in one place, gets bad if it runs too fast aswell...

FPS could well be related. Try this test guys, stand somewhere like Emain ATK and face towards AMG or the graveyard and you get the flicky cursor, turn towards a big fight/50 albs buffing up and the cursor is back to normal.

Next time u get it to a 360 and i bet it doesnt flicker the whole way around!

Might not be the case, but check Mouse options, and remove mouse trails.

I had a gforce 2 where the mouse flickered...

Bought a 2.6ghz P4 with Radeon G9600 pro. No flickering ;D

Goto System Properties > Advanced > Performance Settings and tick the box adjust for best performance.

Then goto Control Panel > Mouse > Pointer Options - make sure display pointer trails is switched off and test the other settings by switching then on - test game etc.

<snip>

- Fixed a bug where keys that were held down (such as Ground Target,Mouselook, etc) would not work in high framerate situations.

---
That's the bug, i have it too... you get it when your framerate gets too high.

Yes, it's a framerate issue. I find it extremely annoying as well. The best solution I have come up with so far is to set my monitor refresh rate to 60Hz (and vsync on) which caps fps at 60.

As mentioned above it will be fixed in a patch, but Im pretty sure it's not in todays patch (foundation).
