The right button (on a right-handed mouse) is fractionally further away from the ear, this causes a form of doppler effect between the aural sensation of the "click" sound and the neural sensation from the figertips, not to mention the brains inability to calculate the exact position of the button vis-a-vis the ear.

Additionally, your index finger is stronger than your middle finger so you tend to push harder with the left finger without knowing it. Try using your thumb and pinky to operate your mouse, you'll find thet your thumb clicks sound like bombs going off, where as your pinky click is inaudible.

I have conducted exhautive tests into this subject (2 minutes of mouse clicking) and can confirm that my logitech mouse has two distinctly different click sounds depending on which button you click.

I demand answers.

Possibly because you use your left mouse button more than the right (or vice versa if you are cack handed)

That depends on if you prefer the Plasma Gun to fire separate balls or a continuous stream.
