Mounted combat

Do you think we will be able to engage combat on a mount in Warhammer? If we could, would it be bad/good?

I personaly think it would be fun but it might be problems in combat.

I doubt that we will be able to have mounted combat but I thought it would be fun to discuss it.

it probably won't be in the game (if it were, they'd have told us by now I think ). Maybe on a later expansion though...

Now, the problem with mounted combat is: a whole new system of damage calculation should be made (because a person on a mount swinging his sword will do more damage than someone standing on the ground, but then again, if the mounted warrior is attacking a guy with a spear the mounted guy should get more damage...) So to make realistic mounted combat big changes should be made.

Also, I don't think mounted combat is that cool... maybe it would be cool if you could actually create really big tactical battles (so 50 guys fighting 50 others on a big field (so not a keep fight) using reallife tactics (eg hammer and anvil, encircle,...) to win the fight). The problem though is that people in MMORPGs usually don't use these great tactics on a big scale, and thus there is absolutely no need for a cavalery department (being mounted guys).

But mounts themselves will be in game though I believe, but they'll most likely disappear as soon as you're under attack (as they did in DAOC)

I will NOT be in game for release, tho its not been said it isnt going to be added some day down the line in say an expansion. Its not going to be around if ever for a year or 2 tho.

You ever played Mount & Blade? If you haven't you really should as it has excellent mounted combat system with realistic damage.

i would hate having to clean the blood stains off my clothes after a realistic mounted combat game.

Spose losing an arm would be more of a negative though.
