Motherboard BIOS

I am installing Win2K onto an old'ish PC, and it has particular problems shutting down - BSOD's, hangs, etc. This happens with APM on and off. I'm assuming a BIOS upgrade will sort it, but I'm buggered if I can find the Manufacturer/Make. The BIOS Strings I've got are :

09/07/98-i440LX-ITE679-CB61X-LXC-00

and

V.CB6110

I've Googled galore, but no joy. Any ideas ?

Hi bids

I believe it's an Intel 440 LX board. Is it running a Pentium 2, per chance? If so I'll have a further search, if not, just let me know.

Kind Regards

Hi bids

I'm afraid the trail has gone a bit cold :( Was the system custom built or did you buy it from a certain company? If the latter, then have you tried checking the manufacturer's website, instead of the motherboard's site? Obvious, I know, but it might be worth a try. I'm sorry I can't be of more use :(

Kind Regards

It's a mates PC, and he has no documentation, and there's no ID info on the mobo either.

Fanks for trying though Jont's :)
