I think it's pretty...small imo.

(for each character that is.. there is loads to do, but with different characters..there is not a lot of depth for each character you choose imo)

I've played it yesterday and it's the same like Daggerfalls (The Elder Scrolls 2). Lots of empty spaces, hard to lvl. You would need a lot of time to know what you should do and to find suitable spots to XP. The graphics are very nice. I like the thunder and rain especially. They really give a good impression how thunder and lightning should be in games.

Guess you have to like the complete freedom, immense world and total lack of 'normal guidelines' to appreciate this game, just as with Daggerfall.

Some love it from the first glance they get from it, others hate the freedom and patience required to play the game. Hope to finish this one someday since I also finished Daggerfall after a looooooooooong time of playing :)

Daggerfall was pretty good for it's time. But after a time you suddenly notice that all those dungeons look alike ;)

naw, actually I played it up to level 28 or smth, I was a straight out heavy set tank

It was really, REALLY, boring, having to walk around oh so damn slow all the time... and at level 28, I really don't want these stupid cliff dwellers pissing me off, who hardly do anything to me, but I still have to waste my time bringing them down.

Oh, and my longsword skill was well maxxed out for a long time, but my armour class skill (heavy) was taking it's time, so what I did, I found some nix hounds, and then let them keep hitting me...lol my armour lvls kept rising ;]

oh yeah

as soon as I found that daedric longsword in vivec, the game was over.. i soon after chanced upon daedric armour and eventually had a full set a while later... there is nothing in the game short of a very hard hitting spell that could inflict any damage on me worth noting (except vivec and dagoth ur ;p ).

The slow speed of the game really pissed me off.

I love RPG games, I have lots of patience, but that doesnt mean games shoud test my patience all the time so I can have some fun, that's plain wrong.

I played the BG series, and loved every minute of it.. lots of dialogue and story in that, but I wasn't bored at all :)

Here, there is just too much damn walking to do.
10 minutes (a REAL 10 minutes) to go to the next town to deliver something or other, then 10 minutes back to tell your boss you've done it.

In fact, I don't really see any more 'freedom' in this game than any others, can someone point this out to me please?

On the subject of graphics, I heard a rumour that the new graphics engine for DAoC will be based around the one used for Morrowind...

Any Expansion on this random rumour anyone? :)

Not, "based around", the same one. The current version of DAoC uses NDL's NetImmerse 3.0 engine. When the expansion pack "Shrouded Isles" comes out, DAoC will be upgraded to use the NetImmerse 4 engine (4.2 I think) which is what Morrowind uses.

http://www.mythicentertainment.com/press/ndlnewengine.html

Note that when the expansion is out you will still get the graphics upgrade even if you don't buy it (but you won't get to go to the new areas, or play the new races/classes). They say that Mythic showed demos of DAoC with the new engine on Saturday but there are no screenshots available yet. :( Supposedly it looks great, though.

Morrowind is cool :) Takes a lot of patience though.

Amusing when you're in two different factions that both want you to kill each other.. start hitting myself over the head with my axe :)

I like the open endeness to the game and the fact you can do anything you damn well want to.

Its how a role play game to me should be like, I got dungeon siege and that is way to easy to play. Baldur's Gate is fun. But Morrowind is like Elite but set in a fantasy world instead of space.

The TES that comes with the game is a nice tool to add mobs to your game or to download mobs from other people to expand the game world.

The Morrowind graphics engine is going to be used for the expansion for DAoC from what I have read.

I loooooove Morrowind. It's really eating into my daoc time.

Sometimes spending hours in a bookstore reading all the books :)

I really like the way they built a world like that. Books, NPC's quests, everything makes the world more complete.

lmao at kajiro's reports on mushrooms and flowers ;)

I liked the one about the merchant that went to the Wood Elf city and got drunk.

Its given to you after a quest where you have to find a husband to a lady just outside of Ald'ruhn.

Ajira? yeah they're funny.,.

Ajira has written two reports and is much better than Galbdeir who only had to write one. Ajira should be made Journeyman.

or something like that :)
