More RAM

I've recently upgraded a computer from 512 to 1GB RAM

Damn thing keeps crashing with BSD (Blue Screen of Death)

Could the problem be due to the fact that the RAM (both are of the same type) are made by different companies ?

It could be, try taking the new stick and putting it in alone and see if it works.

If that works, then the stick isn't faulty however put the original stick you have into the opposite slot you originally had it in and see if that works.

If that works put the new stick into the original slot and maybe hey presto? Thats what happened to me anyways
