Righty, after posting about my horrible Abit KR7A-133 board problems some weeks ago, I've since dumped that board in favour of an Epox 8K3A+. This has solved the majority of ACPI problems and blue screens on boot etc.
However, the machine is still unstable and I cant seem to work out why...
I currently get an IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL bsod at occasions when playing CS, I havent had it playing any other games yet...
It happens around every 1 - 5 days and its driving me nuts...
I am also getting that error when copying some files from my other hard disk, they can be opened, they can be read, but they wont copy, they just give me the IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL BSOD :/
The files in which its erroring on seem to be changing as well, it was a particular file, but I did a thorough scandisk earlier and it copied the entire dir sucessfully immediately after, I then rebooted and it started BSODing on a new file :/
I've checked all my hdds with powermax, I've run thorough chkdsks on both drives also, I'm tempted to do a surface scan but I dont really think that would bring up anything that the powermax util missed
Any suggestions would be nice...
My comp spec is:
AMD XP1900+
Epox 8K3A+
256 pc333 ram
Maxtor D740X 80gb hdd's * 2
Gainward gf4 ti4400
SBLive! (note: problem also occurs using AC97 onboard audio)
3com 3c905b-tx nic (also tried an intel nic and same problem)
Thats all running on win2k with ntfs partitions...
Hopefully someone can come up with something because its driving me nuts
almost 14 weeks since i originally ordered the machine and its still not working properly :/
