Every time I try to do the same stunt on a paper I can’t end up with the same shape the animation is showing. Look at the middle of the figure where the green and red sections are connected. Does that look like three square blocks? Not to me.

But you must say that it is still quite interesting

It is of course a trick... but it's a cleaverly done one, looks quite convincing other than the fact you know it's not possible... you just gotta stare at if for a minute or two to work out where the flaw is.
