Monitor gone pffft?

Lo all. I have (or had) a dual screen system, well today i was playing a game, when suddenly the other screen kinder makes a click noise like it was degaussing. Now that monitor that this happened to is fuzzy or out of focus. Its not graphic card related.

Its a resonably newish monitor so any help would be appreciated

This happened to myself a while back with a CRT monitor of mine. Like you, it made a loud bang like it was degaussing, and the picture was then forever out of focus, so text is illegible, right? Degaussing, switching on/off, nothing seemed to fix it thereafter.

I must admit I didn't try and have it fixed, but since yours seems to be relatively new, check whether it's still in warranty. If it is, get in touch with the manufacturer. Even if it's slightly outside of the warranty, it could well be worth contacting them because ...

• They may be able to tell you what's wrong, and how, if possible, it can be fixed; or
• They may fix/replace the monitor as a gesture of good faith

Its like somone has smeared a super sized tub of vaseline on the screen :\
its also gone a bit grey.

Will ring up the people i bought it from 2morrow and see what happens. Im very very unimpressed.

Not that I know a lot about monitors but it sounds like ur flyback transformer has malfunctioned, that would explain the click and as it's usually linked to the focus control it'd probably explain the lack of focus now
