Are there any good, playable mods for this game yet? I heard about a Black Hawk Down-type-mod but are any of them to a standard where they are just as fun as normal BF1942? Also, would there ever be any servers put up for them on barrysworld?

There's quite a few mods out (see Sticky at the top of this forum), there's a couple based on the BHD era, one based directly on the film called Black Hawk Down, and the other called Conflict In Somalia, which covers the whole civil war.

I don't think I've seen Cold War Rivals yet (sorry cdr) ...

Desert Combat is quite scarily good, but at the minute incredibly unbalanced. It *is* only in Alpha, though, so you've got to bear that in mind.

heh, tbh, I hadnt heard much about it - we've only really just started on it, I've only just started working on the Falklands section. Not much publicity has been put about, will do once the website moves to the new host and is redesigned
