Okay heres the problem, sodding Win98 has lost me modem.

I've tried removing the modem from controlpanel/modems, and restarting. Windows detects my modem and happily reinstalls my drivers. The modem I have is a Pace internal and this is set to use com3. Unfortunately Win98 does not reinstall the drives for this port

This is becoming V.annoying. I am very tempted to reinstall windows, but b4 I do does anyone know of an ez solution to my troubles?

check that win98 setup has all the communications options neccesary for TCP/IP installed(DUN etc etc)
Failing that check the drivers for the pci serial bus are there....but then none of your cards on pci would work.
All i can think of atm

Wen we go to computer exchange tomorrow ask them spotty, goatie-wearing dudes that work in there as they seem like the right sort of computer-boffins to help you with ur problem.

The modem is an internal pace ISA, (still the best modem around IMHO).
Think I'm going to reinstall Win98, unless anyone can help.....the clock is ticking..
