Modem Error ! Please Help

Ok after i dropped my Pc into PC World and they giving my dial up Aztech CNR2900 V.92 modem the all clear i ran a self diagnostic that said ...

1. Card error
2. Line check ok
3. Dialtone check ok
4. Dialling check<to my isps number> ok

Now i could be wrong but how can my modem be ok if this error pops up ... like they had my friggin pc 2 weeks and i payed 80e to basically be sent back to square one ... internet settings are set up in line with isps and i keep getting msg ...

This webpage cannot be displayed ... etc

And my patcher ... which has done 40mb+ downloads on 2-3 kbps ... pops up error msg 201 ... check u are connected to the internet etc ...

Is this my modem or am i wrong ?

P.S. Never has a problem playing Daoc on dialup before ... and this seems to be a more general problem as it effects my net explorer aswell < on shitty 2nd pc atm> ... Plz Help !

go back to pc world and say you paid them to fix it and they have not.

I had a similar prob ages ago when I was on dial up , could connect direct to download but not web pages.... and I can't remember how I solved it/got my mate to solve it. Will be speaking to him 2moro and if I remember will ask him what it was - sure it was just a tickbox somewhere or something simple like that... If I get any answers outta him will post it for ya. Sorry cant be more helpful atm - stuck at work so can't even try n mess about with connections etc on me own pc..

Oki this just doesnt make sense ... on my 7 year old gimp pentium 2 celeron that in 1999 was even crappy and web pages coming up on 42k in like 2-3 seconds ... and net on other pc doesnt help ... it has to be net settings < set to default/isps settings> or the modem ... plz help meh im @ the end of my tether :<
