mobo/case ports dont match up? WTF! Urgent help pls

Today I received my Chieftec Blue Dragon, Abit BD7-II, p4-1.6a etc etc. However, when I tried and fit the mobo in the case the ports dont line up! The ps2 and game ports at either end line up fine with the holes in the case, but the usb/lan and com/print ports are "the wrong way round".

On the case, it goes from top to bottom: ps2-usb-print-game. The only way I could make the mobo fit would be to COMPLETELY remove the plate with the holes in (god knows how) rather than just push the little bits out. Is this normal?? I never had to do this with my p3 rig, surely leaving such a gaping hole would cause problems with dust etc

Case Manufacturer's Part Number: DX-01BL-D

Any help or ideas greatly appreciated since I am getting a bit frustrated and not being able to setup by new PC!

Did the motherboard not come with its own plate?

When I got my Abit TH7-II it had another backplate to replace the one supplied by Chieftec so that I could use all Three USB Ports

Normally cases come with a few thin sheets of mental with different port configs.

lol i hate it when that happens, total pain in the arse, your forcing the ports into an "imaginery" hole until you notice whats happening, and yeah, there *should* be more back plates for your selection.
