Mobile phone midi file convertors...

Now, as I recall, polyphonic mobile ringing tones, while having a .mid extension, aren't straightforward midi tones - if this is the case, are there any utilities knocking about that would change/convert PC midi files into those usable by a mobile (specifically a Nokia 3510i)?

Also while I'm here - what format are colour operator logos in?

I fancy changing mine, and they are few and far between.

I've worked out how to make custom mobile wallpapers, thereby negating the need for those expensive 0906 mobile phone lines...

PS: I do know there is a mobiles forum, but it's shit, as no-one ever reads or posts to it.

Ta peeps :D

Why not go to the nokia website and download the software they have already made for this sort of thing? It converts images, midi files, all sorts.

Ive got a Sony Ericsson T610 and the ring tones are just standard midi files, logos can be jpeg or gif and aniated gif for the screensaver. I just use a bluetooth dongle to transfer files.
Not sure if its the same on Nokia phones

Where Kenneth?

I've looked at the Nokia Audio Suite 1.0, but it's a plugin for Cubase, and the Nokia Multimedia Convertor Beta is only for video and AMR files, not midi.

If there's one there I'm missing, then you'll have to point it out, cos I aer teh blind.

Sorted: Coding Workshop Ringtone Convertor has an option in it to convert from so called Midi type 1 to type 0, and works a treat - I now have Secret of Mana as my Ringtone :D

Scoobs: That one of yours looked ok, but it doesn't produce workable ringtones for me :(

Now just for the Operator Logos...

;)

How can you send a ringtone to a phone? Is there any software around that can do this?

Yeah - I upload mine to my webspace and download it via Wap.

Or I could start a WAP server with that App above, and download it to my phone directly from my PC.

If you haven't got a Wap enabled phone, then I haven't a clue, sorry Dys. :(

You can probaly do it via an IR port, if your phone has one, and you've got one on a laptop or something.

How do you do that?

Doesnt the webspace have to be specially designed for WAP?

No, pages you view via Wap have to be designed for Wap, but suitable files can be downloaded directly to your mobile via http (IE: Jpegs, midi type 0 files etc).

Just choose a random modern phone and go through to software. I have PC Suite 5.1 installed and that has a midi converter.

Ono is right, a cable + logomanager and MobiMB (or PolyPhonix Studio) wins everytime.

Sorry, some guy at work uses it, I would have tested it but my phone is too old for such tomfoolery.

Yes but its not for me! I want to give the ringtone to someone else who doesnt have a cable.

It appears as though this WAP thing is a lot of hassle.
