i just orderd one of these http://www.aria.co.uk/ProductInfoComm.asp?ID=7948

and a new cpu and some 256 DDR400 ram for it

i was wondering if could put old SDRAM DIMMS in with the DRR ram and boost performance

EG: DDR 256 + SDRAM 128 + SDRAM 128 = 512 MB of ram (even tho the bus speed would run at the speed of the slowest of the sticks or so im told)

would that work?
i have been told by one person i cant, and by another i can :/

Stick with just the DDR, if it does actually allow you to you won't see any performance increase anyway.

Some motherboards support either DDR or SDR but not many support a mix of them. I don't think even your motherboard supports SDR SDRAM, check your manual if you want to find out.

SDR SDRAM - Single Data Rate Synchronous dynamic random access memory
DDR SDRAM - Double Data Rate Synchronous dynamic random access memory

Also there are some physical differences, SDR uses 168 pins while the DDR using 184 pins connectors.

I'd rather buy another 256 or 512+ DDR than try to mix.
