It could be OK - at least it's not being done by John 'Why do people keep giving me money to make shit shit films?' Woo. JJ Abrams can do good stuff when he puts his mind to it.

well J Woo totaly when down hill after face off

as for JJ Abrams he did well with alias up till series 3 then fuck knows what happened charectors get killed and turn out to be alive 3 episodes down. series 5 ep 10 was classic, yorkshire is place where all the rich toffs live in big mansions and have snooty accents. ah well LOST is still good tho so there maybe a slight chance mi3 wil be good

Yeah what gives me faith is that JJ Abrams probably has nothing to do with Alias anymore, so the fact that it's now utter shit is nothing to do with him.

And what do you mean after Face/Off? It was utter utter shit! As was Broken Arrow and Hard Target. Hard-Boiled was pretty overrated too.

Oh come off it nath: Face/Off is no filmic masterpiece but it IS a bloody good bit of entertainment. And Hard Boiled is great.

Yes it's not great but it DOES entertain. It doesn't have to be 'good' to entertain.

The only way I could see this film entertain is by laughing at how laughably awful that is. I suppose there's merit in that :)

Put it on in a room of casual movie watchers and they'll have fun. Mindless action plus two supercool lead characters = entertaining. You may be entertained by it's failings, but it doesn't really matter when you're sat high on that pedestal. :D

I figured you might assume I was just playing the movie snob - seriously I'm not. I like shitty action movies, I just think John Woo's action movies are really lame :\

Face/Off is good entertainment, I even liked Broken Arrow though so you should probably discount my opinion :)

MI 2 was stupidly rubbish crap. It was absolutely dire compared to MI 1, which I thought was bloody great.

Why they changed from 'action flick with characterisation and good plot' to 'doves flying through flames as Ethan breaks 5 necks simultaneously' is beyond me, although I suspect money played a part in that decision.
