Minstrels....

I know this may sound like a stupid question but I've read a couple of sites and forums who all seem to say different things on the aspect of stealth... should i spec in it and what should i aim for?
(i intend to have full spec instru and something high in the 30s for slash)

Don't bother, it's useless since see hidden came along. If you must have stealth go 44 instru, 44 slash, 21 stealth, or 50 instru, 39 slash, 18 stealth. Personally I'll be respeccing to 49/44/1.

stealth for us minstrels is a waste of time you get found by little grass snakes that are gray to you with stealth at 7 (lvl 18 at the time)
not putting any more into stealth not worth the points going for 50 ints (for pet mastery) and the rest into slash and 7 stealth

Mobs and players don't work quite the samne way with stealth. I currently have 29 specced stealth, and it's good... except with the new realm abilities archers and assassins can negate all your spec points easily. The only thing you need stealth for these days is so if you spot a mage at range you can stealth so they can't target you at long range, and 1 stealth will do for that. :p

Silly question, for which I apologize for but.....

Can you stealth and speed song at the same time?

Nope, steath doesn't work with any pulsing effect (speed, power, mez, charm, heal).

Thanks. And another question for the minstrel panel...

Are your spells a major drain on your power? Not initially putting 10 points into Charisma will it screw me over?

Yes and yes. :p
DD, DD, Stun = 35-40% power, takes all of, hmm, 1 second to cast that. I'm always OOP even with powersong and MCL. :p And I have 190 charisma (capped).

<get's nuked by dannyn's windchaser pet>

You resist the effect!

"woohoo!"

You are hit for 795 (+273) Damage!
You have been killed by Dannyn!

Well other than the fact they you're more likely to resist me than my pet (I like the level 52 windchasers) and 795 is WAAAY over my damage cap... :p
(My cap is 295 on sword, 343/276 on shouts).

That wasn't my reasons I already had a Rogue rolled, with 10 pts in quickness rather than charisma.

But I deleted him and rerolled and can now be found beating my drum yelling

"Weeeeeeeeee"

As I zoom over Camelot hills.

Bit harder to play than a button bashing tank but all the more fun for it :)

Cool. You'd get the lovely pleasure of just collapsing dead unexpectly and seeing a minstrel run away laughing. :p

hehe ALMOST kill him, ALMOST :) i'd get the pleasure of seeing some red speckly things appear and then 90% of my health bar just dissapear, then i'd get the pleasure of knowing that the minstrel had another one in store too :D...along with insta stun, mezz, decent tanking, speed, chain armour, stealth, pets, and the dreaded /y :)

Dunno about the decent tanking (that tends to fizzle out around level 35 :p) And atm I prefer my eldritch to my minstrel. Mmm nearsight, mmm nukes, mmm stun. :D

neglecting your stealth lets you get seriously nice resists from items :p instead of having to bother with +stealth gear.
Just thought I'd mention that.

well resists are all nice, but let's face it, which resist is better, one where you reisist a whopping 50% of that void bolt, or the one where the eldritch doesnt even know your there so your effectively resisting 100% of all magic damage types, weapon types, etc... etc....

i'll take the +stealth items if you dont mind :) although i DO see your point :p

The eldritch knows you're there because he can see you fighting the SB. So resists are better. I'll keep my 32% cold/heat/energy kthx. :D
Also with or without stealth items the eldy isn't going to spot you unless you do something dumb. Minstrels only need 700 range to attack, not running up and hitting with your sword.
