why 11 instruments? they give you like 5 more damage ..

I agree with eeben, On my minstrel I have a temp with 360 hits, Winged helm and oglidarsh to increase damage absorption, CB ( very nice for the stun charge before attacking hib casters who like to qcast stun) and better resists. I cant see a little bit of extra instrument damage making up for it.

Also I would consider malice to be a better choice of mainhand. (then you can use champ harp so you dont have to worry about PH summon time when you log in)

Would agree w/ Ballard on the Malice vs Champ Weapon, not to mention the Malice debuff is a good way to increase the somewhat meager damage minstrels offer. Also the CW-harp offers its very nice powercharge for those outdrawn fights/back to back-fights. The only reason I can see for 11 instr is for charming those oj+ pets, where it helps out alot, but then, it's alot of twisting to keep that pet and other vitals up in RvR.

dont get + inst unless your gonna be a pet mins as already said. They are better used elsewhere. Thou ofc if you know how to twist well and run with pet, in grp and solo(seems yber if you know how to do it well) it seems ok to me.
Thou malice > any other weapon imo. Use Malice and then chamb harb
