just started one prolly aint even spelt it right but here goes:

id like some help on speccing so i can make a choice about which direction i should go in

id like some info on what they do and thier pros and cons

id also like to know about instruments and what differecne does a grey con one amke to a yellow con since as i can see all u need em for is to play the song

when do i get my pet?

i didnt know they got DD how good is this

OK I'm not a minstral but I think I might be able to help you on a couple of these questions.

I think a better instrument gives you a higher chance of your mezzes working. It probably does other things too, but this alone should inspire you to try and keep yours orange or yellow

when do i get my pet?
You get your pet via the charm song - the first of these comes when you spec instruments to level 6.

Yes, it's Minstrel.

Spec instrument to your level till at least level 44, rest in weapon.

id like some info on what they do and thier pros and cons
pros: speed, mez, powersong, high level pets
cons: low damage output, stealth is useless

The main advantage is a longer pulse on your song (the time it affects you after you stop playing). You'll never get a longer pulse than with a yellow instrument. It's most important for mez (get a yellow flute!), but handy for the others too.

First charm is level 7, humanoid only.

i didnt know they got DD how good is this
You get 2 dds, on separate timers, use them. They're not anything like a mage dd, but they add a bit of extra damage and are usable in combat.
