Minimum SORN period?

Hi

I've left getting my bike squared away a little late and rather than racing around trying to get things sorted out, I'm looking at getting it SORN'd until a later date.

The thing is, I'm hoping this "later date" will be slightly less than a month, but I've been unable to find out how long the minimum SORN period is - is it literally just until I get the bike taxed again, or is there a minimum admin period of a month?

Heard rumours that it's a month but wanted to be sure - also a little concerned its longer than a month, which is waaay too long to be without my bike!

Any help much appreciated.

It's just sorned until you tax it. Could be a day if you want.

If it's parked off the road ( in your drive ) you don't even need one iirc?

Used to be like that - now it has to be either SORN'd or re-taxed within 14 days or they geek you out with thier nifty databases and post you an auto-fine, supposedly!

Deciding not to take risk!

Cheers Gumbo! Poor little Cibber is now officially SORN'd :( but atleast now I can leave it for a few days! :D

Can't you tell em to stuff the fine as it's not on the road though? Pretty sure that autofine is like TV license demands - tell em to stuff it.

Nope, you have to declare Sorn.

It stands for Statutory Off Road Notification. They send you a reminder after 14days or so overdue, if you don't do anything then, you get fined.
