Well, slash damage is 50% Str / 50% Dex. So having some dex isn't too bad.

Aye, slash is full str, thrust is 50/50.
Minstrels only use dexterity to cast demezz and aoe mezz. Their blocking isn't dex based because they can't get MoB nor spec shield. I think it might also have some effect on your evade rate.

Your evade rate is 50% based on your dex, and 50% on your quickness. A reason to choose saracen over highlander would primarily be your evade rate, but if you take saracen you'd have to choose thrust as well, to make sure you're well suited to wield your weapon.

if your going slash highlander is the best imo since not only do you get more str but you also get natrual cold resist and since most nukes are cold based thats kinda handy imo 8)

Highlanders are by far the best race for minstrels, with the extra hp and racial cold (5) and slash (2) resists, they are great vs stealthers.

Saracens, Don't even bother

Britons, good all rounder if want to have the option of a thurst minstrel..but slash is the best line for a minstrel.

Minstrels get Calming Notes at RR5. Insta mez on pets.

Highlanders are by far the best race for minstrels, with the extra hp and racial cold (5) and slash (2) resists, they are great vs stealthers.

Agreed, im going to switch to traitors when battler/malice run out of dura probably.

Traitors = mists interrupting etc, handy.Means i can slap someone about a bit and run onto the next in group fights.Unless they changed how the mists work and i didnt read the patch notes thouroughly(sp) enough?

traitors is nice for interrupts, best is to be able to swap between traitors / malice or sthin imo

Well High is the best race for a slash minstrel stats wise. But briton minstrel with a scout/inf duo/trio is kinda nice aswell - confuse the enemy for a cupple of seconds, wich sometimes is enough. I guess a set rvr group with all britons is funny aswell... but high is stats wise better then a briton if ur going slash - dex is totally useless for a minstrel, tho QU is handy but I would prefer the higher str/con

Dont listen to them, saracen minstrel is best.
I like it that my weaponskill is more depending on dex than str when everyone have access to str/con debuff
Also I cant stand hibs, so its good they're all neutral to thrust.
Only problem with this is you'll be going through hell to make a good SC and ToA template. But I think i managed to get mine OK
