Midgard Unite!

I read through most of the heavily replied to Alliance discussion that was posted, and I have to say that I think it's a shame that Midgard is so fragmented. It's a shame that a few people can have such a negative effect on so many.

Splitting up our forces means that, unless there is good inter-alliance communication, Albion, and to an extent Hibernia, end up more organised and more of a threat... and as someone said earlier become increasingly "invincible".

All the /as channel use discussions are more often than not totally valid. But it's very interesting to see how groups of Midgardians in the Battle Grounds work so much better under ONE general chat group. Surely we can take a good number of lessons from the Battlegrounds and forget this inner Midgard bickering that seems prevalent. If we continue like this Albion will keep tearing us apart! I wonder how the Albion Alliances are organised? Does anyone know? Maybe take a leaf out of a dirty old Albion book! :-P

Hope this stirs up some interest (all positive feedback welcomed!)

if some of the people claiming themselves as "leaders" could wipe their bad attitude off and start treating all people with respect AND taking a discussion without being abusive and rude, bingo. :D

mid alliances unite yes.

but maybe a too big alliance wont help will just create to many ppl in it for it to be effiecient, many smaller alliances working together might be better

Here here!

i totally agree if the laeders of the alliences put aside any\and\all differances and spoke to each other the realm would get alot farther. maybe the officers of the differant alliences in the /cg relating information to each other instead of this "were gonna take the keep ourselves" mentallity i've seen

i'm in the fedaykin allience and there is very little use of /as in RvR not a complaint but a statement. when Xping i turn it off cos most of it isn't relevant which means i miss news of invaders, when there is any.

mostly i find several group roaming emain or where ever with little purpose or direction. very few officers seem to want to co-ordinate an attack or have littleluck in doing so as no one listens example being the MMG (take your pick which) intead of listening to officers peeps run into the opposition in ones and two's with no support, when with a little patence and direction they would be organised enough to break take and hold the mile gates keeps even relics (with enough co-ordination),

silverwolf is right there is so much beckering we're getting no-where fast!!
(and just because a player isn't lvl 50 doesn't maen there wrong :) )

TBH i don't think the alliance thing matters apart from for warnings of where enemies are/ what they doing.. the main organising of activities is done via /cg of guild leaders and officers.. from all guilds, regardless of alliance.

I agree... all people who wish to "Lead" us Middies should first and foremost realise......we are not cartoon avatars....anywhere other than on the screen. We are real people believe it or not, and using /as to shout abuse is highly inflammatory and extremely counterproductive.

Our Leaders should LEAD, this does not equate to ORDER/SHOUT/SCREAM ABUSE/BERATE etc etc. Teach and encourage will get you results. Preach and discourage will get you told to fuck off!

Leaders please: use the experience you have gained through your hundreds of thousands of Realm Points to teach people, to explain when things go wrong WHY they went wrong and what to do NEXT time in order for it to NOT go wrong in future. Speak to people like thay are human beings and DO NOT treat people like they are morons or pieces on a chess board to be moved around as and when you damn well feel like it. And probably the most important thing... give credit where credit is due... use /as to praise the actions of individuals or guilds when they have done a good job with as much enthusiasm as some of our leaders seem to feel they have the right to do the opposite. Then MAYBE we will begin to get somewhere. MAYBE!

Conversely....for those people who want leaders to emerge...you HAVE to listen to them. Otherwise whats the point? People who have taken the initiative in the past (me included) have become so frustrated and disillusioned with being ignored and having people do the very first thing that pops into their heads.. ie run off in twos and threes towards a zerg of 50 or so Hibs/Albs time and time again, constantly opening MG doors when defending thus allowing enemy stealthers the opportunity to get in behind our positions and take our healers/casters out etc etc... that we have to a greater extent withdrawn from taking any kind of lead or initiative.

The choice is simple: If you want leaders let them lead, if they are assholes petition your GMs to have them removed from any Alliance leadership group they belong to. It is my understanding that these individuals are voted in by representatives of Guilds within their Alliance (or should be in any case) and therefore can be removed by another such vote, or special meeting if immediate dismissal is deemed necessary.

Anyway... this is only my opinion and my opinion only based on observation and experience.

Nice to hear. :) However most peeps use the /as to relay info to start something up, then move to a chat group. Sometimes it is used for a bit of fun and sometimes as a proper tool for co-ordinating hunts/RvR.

unless there is good inter-alliance communication

Contrary to popular belief there is communication. We wouldn't be able to help each other if the alliances didn't talk to each other. It's still happening, it's just we don't make a song and dance about it.

Aye. No argument to that. In the end it's an ALLIANCE of guilds. You have the power to change things. If something doesn't work there are two options, either work to correct it or vote with your feet. Sonetimes the latter is necessary when the former doesn't seem to work after repeated trying.

I personally would like to thank both Roo and Nicodemus along with all the other people who are members of the Fedaykin Alliance for the fairness, respect and above all fun that they have allowed the alliance to operate with. Rules and recommendations have been listened to and discussed and when people have had gripes they have always been resolved, usually the very same day. Events have been held and enjoyed by many and generally I can't praise it enough.
People seem to be blinded in DAoC that RvR is the whole purpose of the game - well based on the game style it is one of the most enjoyable aspects but it's not the be all and all of playing. I understand that when your level 50 then your options begin to get limited but we can arrange events that are still fun for all. If you have fun then suddenly peoples attitudes and chat shows that and you get less back biting and snidey comments being made because people don't feel the need to bitch about things.

Before I left, I found that people would follow me even though I was only 35 at that time, because I was ambitious and wanted to get things done - and as such we took 2 keeps successfully, won one of the biggest and best battles I've been in in this game and generally had fun. I had a lot of friends helping me out (Warrr and Vombat were two that stuck out, and Roo, Krok) and it was a flying success. Bear in mind I did not have access to alliance chat then, I just asked around, rounded up the scattered middies in Emain, and off we went.

Now I do have access to alliance chat. Yesterday I was trying to get people to help us take Dun Bolg, after we had just taken Cruachon and Crimthainn. I got a message from someone, saying "why don't you take blendrake back? Hibernian keeps are basically pointless" at which I asked him if he wanted to organize a raid on blendrake, I got the reply "xping in malmo." This guy was level 48.

Anyway, my point is, Level does not matter! I for one am experienced in RvR, not as much as some people of course, but I had periods where I only went to RvR, I must have been on around 30 keep raids. Yet I am level 39. I know that this means, if I was to organize a relic raid, a lot of people wouldn't bother turning up. These people might be 10 levels higher than me, but then they might have been powerlevelled/have no experience in RvR... I mean, do not limit yourselves! A lot of us lower people have something to say, so swallow your pride and listen! Before I left, we had ALL the relics, we had most of the keeps... now look at us. A shattered remnant of the Midgard I once knew and loved. I mean, I remember when both albion and hibernia together couldn't take our relics.

So unite! We CAN take back the relics, nay, WILL take them back. Then we will take each and every damn keep that stands in our way! Together, we are strong, stronger than albion could possibly imagine!

And it should not matter a damn if relic plans leek out, I want to see every able bodied middie charging the relic keeps, defend THAT if you will, albion....

The problem really is the average player. Really. Have you EVER tried to get a group of 100 people to do as you want them to do?

Doesn't work too well, does it?

Just last night I tried to stop all the mids in emain from rushing to MMG and getting slaughtered by a very large hib force there. I was porting in with the 2nd port and told Bonesnap to try keep the mids from dying. When I got to pad there were 26 mids in emain. Ok looks good, I thought, over around 20 of us here on pad, soon we are as many as hibs. But as I ported in, Bonesnap told me that over half of the mids hard died and released, leaving now about 30 of us in emain.

Ok so we went out anyway because I really didn't care much anymore, managed to kill few hibs and so on and eventually ran into the hib force that wiped the floor with us.

---

Or the other day Azal got bitched at a lot because he told people to stay at MMGE. We got wiped twice. Soon the bitching started and so on. I doubt no one ever realized that he never told us to stay on hib side of MMG. We would have had better chances on the other side. Yes, we most likely would have still died. Someone at MMG tried to suggest that but no one listened. Everyone just stood there like a snowman and eventually got smacked.

Are people really this stupid (ok I know they are, no need to reply to this ;P).
