Ok fellow midgard players listen up, ive been seeing Malmo die slowly. But why??

Afew days after patch malmo died i dont understand, if you want to level fast go malmo, because if not we are all going to find it hard to level tbh.

I would really like to see 2 FG's at malmo lair tomorrow Wednesday the 13th of August, Please will most people show up so we can get some good exp done :)

See you tomorrow at 6am BST (Try and make it).

It's the new /level command and thidranki, people are making all sorts of alts (myself included) and maybe even enjoying them so much that they continue playing them.

RvR has been sort of boring after patch aswell, but don't worry too much, at some point people will return to malmo and the madness can go on :)

Malmo ALWAYS dies the first days (weeks?) after a new patch... it will come again when ppl get an urge to get their chars to 50 :eek:

1. Aggro range has increased.

2. New spawn areas added (closer to rock, makes it very unsafe due to CFH).

3. Faster spawn times.

4. New patrol routes. Mobs in the new spawn area patrol closer to the groups, almost always bringing a second set of mobs along with the intended pull.

5. Dragon kills on safewall.

6. Mobs spawn on zone walls more frequently.

yar for safespot like sometime ago?
dunno if drag fly and kill there? but atleast 1/2 year ago dragon fly sometime s over yar and didnt kill nobody there.
yar same time place where peeps meet and get group, and hope this get yar group up again.

new spawn spot near stone?
well move between 2 stones like old days, and dont go over that line what these 2 stones make.
sadly is hard now get 2 xp group up in lair, offcourse its possible.

mobs on zonewalls
well this is mostly when come in to malmo, why not gather group up in gna? /y and ask if other going to malmo.
if unsafe how you get to malmo? go to malmo entrance and waite at stone there, usually allways soon someone going to xp, maybe one spot more where collect peeps to get xp in malmo?

most problem i seen is resist rates against exes and higher mobs.
dunno if same in yar spot? lower lvl mobs there ( no exe´s)

and yes, after patch is usually allways some days/week quiet in malmo.
it come up soon, need just work out new way to xp, and maybe spots.

malmo is old mill to get from 40 to 50, hard to change these habits.
dunno if there is spot what can replace malmo?
some dungeon would be ok?
SI area? is there so high mass high lvl mobs whit so fast spawn ratio, dont think so.

Hope you alot get some malmo going before I get me savage a few more levels to 40. :p :p

actually, why not try to find diffrent spots instead of sitting there waiting for a whole day while on a list? :rolleyes:
just a silly idea of me tho...

A spot that is almost as good as the lair is just inside TG, down the left hand side passage, mobs pops very fast but seem to be a bit tougher that malmo mobs (but that may just be cos of the lovely 'block bug' fix). Our guild was there last night pulling constantly and never ran out of mobs. Another bonus is that you get dungeon XP

Epic Zones Revisited

In a continuing effort to revitalize under-utilized areas of the game, we have revisited the three zones that contain the original dragons. After evaluating all three, we are adding new AI for all the existing named mobs to increase the variety of encounters in the zone, and tweaking the Dartmoor and Sheeroe Hills zones so they will hopefully have as much appeal for players in those realms as Malmohus has for Midgard players. In order to do this, we have decreased the scout range of all scout mobs in each zone. This should allow players to navigate the zone easier and lower the chances of having mobs aggro from distances that are too far for players to deal with. We have also lowered the spawn times of some generators that were spawning faster than players were able to reliably deal with.


Nice "revitalization". My guess is they think that the slower all those newly rolled savages and bonedancers level the better for RvR "balance".

We are all balanced, but some are more balanced than others.

We actually got malmö going pretty good again after the patch, after a couple of days. But the thing why malmö stoped completly is the /lvl system.....everyone is making a new alt. But i expect malmö to be up and going again in a couple of days. Was the same thing when i brought Gosmumset through malmö...then the patch with dodens gruva came and malmö stoped completly for a week. (I still hate DG for that)

Everyone hates malmo and the way it works. Well all sane ppl do. And the patch has as all other patches have given them something new to try out insted of sitting there waiting for a group for 10h a day. Malmo is the biggest reason why we have df so seldom and why most ppl dont know how to make a group, all they want is to be added to a list.

what are u talking about?* in my memory of the game (not a long time I'll grant you, about 10 months now) Midgard has had DF 80%+ of the time.

*in the nicest possible way :D

The BIGGEST factor ABOVE all else is the change to the 1.62 PvE code.

Peopel simply cannot do well with PBAoE groups anymore, as they SM's keep being resisted on their spells.

Basically attacking/healing chars ONLY add to the tihit bonus, meaning, all them semiafk leechers and afk PBT bots/BuffBots will NOT add to the tohit bonus. Meaning the 'number of attackers' has dropped from prepatch 16 (2 full groups) to ONLY the active players (aka Damage dealign casters, Melee classes that are actually SWINGING at the mobs, and Healers healing the group.

Because a Melee char can only attack ONE mob at a time, doign a pull of more than 4 draks simply doesnt work now because there is not enuff tohit on each Drak for the SM to be resisted less.

Short Answer: On top of the changes to Malmo, the 1.62 PvE code has fubared MOST high level exping.
