(MID) Best return on sapphire seals

Getting close to being able to hinge armour and weapons from DF.

Which metal weapons/chain give the best return for sapphire seals in mid, or are they all pretty much the same?

Their pretty much the same but the best is the 1hand axe at the cost of 21 sapphires.
Think it's called Accursed avernal spiked axe if my memories serves me right.
Should give you 47 asterites when salvaging.
