Interesting.

everyone makes mistakes sometime mate :)

I'd rather use XP than 9x, or indeed linux, but 2k gives it quite a daddying.

It's been said a hundred times already, the "lets bash MS!" bandwagon has been thoroughly worn out.

Well, since Microsoft have crushed competitors time and again by bundling various products as an part of the OS, swallowing the loss, I can see the anti-trust action being very beneficial.:)

If the DoJ don't water it down into some daft idea, like the Software-For-Schools nonsense (pushing Apple out of schools at a loss).

Well considering the fact that the Bush admin is rather uhmmm "pro companies" and that the justice department already is playing the whole thing down i think that this is a thread that has passed its experation date.

Well, a few of the states are trying to raise their own action, since they aren't happy withthe Doj. And the judge threw out the original settlement after reading all the expressed opinions on the case.

So I don't think the Bush administration are going to get too much say, it's out of their hands. Whether they "change the rules" afterwards is another thing...

Keep an eye on the Reg, as it's esculating.

The Judge in the case the 9 states are fighting has ruled that MS must give them access to the winXP embeded edition source...
Thereg has speculated that MS will fight this ruling to the end, as they don't like anyone seeing their source, however, whilst they're fighting against one small part of the case, they're holding up the whole case, so MS win, at least in the short term.

tbh didn't know about the states action but my point still stays valid as it is said ms will fight to the end---> suprime court ---> right wing (at the mom) a couple of judges i believe are going to retire and Bush (with the help of a presure group) has to decide who replaces them.
The states action is rather funny caus the govern case against the tobacco industry failed while the states did succeed so will watch it (if i am bored enough ;) )

Calling the Federal government "Right Wing" is like calling the Queen "monarchy". The US doesn't HAVE left wing. You get two versions of right wing, and they've moved furthur right in the past decade (See Clinton and "New" Democrats.. note Tony stealing his idea)

I would'nt have a problem with Micro$haft if they made an operating system that FUCKING WORKED. Case in point:

4 Compters LAN'd up at my place, UT server running on one and when the others go to connect to it (bearing in mind its a LAN server we are connecting to) Win ME insists on dialing out to the internet.

Even removed the dial up drivers and it still did it.

stazbumpa thats entirely youre fault for using the worst operating system ever made...

Win 98 SE was doing it too, mine was the only one using Win 2k and that was fine. It proves my point though, Bill Gates copies other peoples ideas and makes them worse.
