Micro direct is good, bought a few things there. Aparently their customer support is worse than Dabs though

http://www.komplett.co.uk
http://www.aria.co.uk/
http://www.microdirect.co.uk/
http://www.ebuyer.co.uk
http://www.insight.com - take with a pinch of salt, i only used them once and the delivery time sucked
http://www.tekheads.co.uk/s/index
http://www.crucial.com/uk <-- look here for memory as they sometimes have offers which are VERY cheap
http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/

Good prices, returns and tech support are less than great though. I used to buy quite alot of hardware from them but as they are local to me but Aria is also close by and tend to be bit cheaper on alot of things.

Only experience with Micro Direct has been crap. Yes they're cheap, but customer service leaves a lot to be desired.

I ordered a set of sennheiser in ear headphones in silver - they had silver and black ones, and both were marked as being in stock. I paid £4.99 in delivery charges, but I was happy with that, as they said small items such as cables and earphones would be sent out by royal mail and would be postable though the letter box (ideal if you have a full time job, and the royal mail depot is 200 yards down the road).

10 days after ordering (estimated delivery time was 3-5 days) I got pissed off and rung them up asking where my headphones were. They said that they weren't in stock, and were expecting them to come in any day now. When I made a scene and explained that I needed them as soon as possible, they went on to say that actually they weren't expecting them in for another two weeks, and did I want to switch my order to the black headphones instead? I only got this response when I pressed them on the phone - I dind't get any emails or anything informing me that my headphones were no longer in stock.

So then I waited another 5 days expecing my headphones to turn up on the doorstep. What did turn up, after another week, was a card from City-Link saying they'd tried to deliver a parcel blah blah too big to go through the letter box etc. Cue a 5 mile drive to their depot, waiting for half an hour while they find it etc, at which point they bring in a big cardboard envelope (almost A3 size) with my headphones in one tiny little corner. Fully packaged my headphones were about the size of a mobile phone, so why they put it in such a huge envelope and sent it by city link I don't know.

:flame:

Thats why I'm never going to use Micro Direct again.

Don't blame you, that is piss poor. I had a similair issue with overlockers.co.uk a few years back and it really put me off using them again.
