I was talking to a theug while playing my Sorc alt. I was mez pulling and he said that he should pull cos you get less adds with root as well as being generally better.

I think Mez is better cos amount of adds isn't governed by pull method (unless aoe) and they can't hit you when mezzed.

Can someone please confirm the add thing though.

last time I tried pulling with mezz we got absolutely no adds until the mezz broke...

at which point all three came running...

when you pull with root the one you root stands there rooted, and the other two come running...

this may not be the case anymore?

Aye, root is better for pulling as the adds come whether it is resisted or not. It you mez-pull you don't know how many (or which ones) will come when the mez breaks.

Root pulling can allow you to more easily do crowd control in limited space. As such, it's good in dungeons.

Root tends to be safer. If you root pull you just get a normal baf. If you mez pull they sometimes call for help and you get the whole camp...

I was pulling last night and adds came straight away, although sometimes with the nymphs they all came at once.

As a cabby i would say as a general rule if the mob has no ranged attack dont mez pull as a soc, let any other caster root pull, this gives you more power and time to mez additional adds. and as an bonus root inst broken by debufs.
If the mob has ranged attacks mez it.
