A lot of talk on the web, Facebook and Twitter tonight of a massive fireball seen over Yorkshire but was seen in Scotland too.

I saw it coming home from more astrophotography, I slammed on the breaks and pulled in quickly - it was a tremendous greeny colour that moved slowly across the sky, like a sideways firework. Took my breath away, it looked like a plane that was on fire and breaking up.

There's a video:

Anyone else see it?

I was too busy being amazed, couldn't work out if it was a chunk of space debris or a plane crashing.

Something about the size of a fridge burning up is what it looked like to me from the vids - very pretty :)

Pff...I dreamt I forgot to put the bins out for the dustmen.

I'm sure even as I was dreaming I was thinking "of all the things you could dream about, you're thinking of bins??!"

Saw it and was amazed, it made me stop playing GW2 for a minute. lol. Was falling pretty horizentally just above the hills outside my window. Given that it was exactly on the glasgow airport flightpath (they descend just behind the hill) I had to double look to make sure it wasnt a plane. :)
