Should be good. Liked the first but it only took a few hours to finish and I didn't fancy doing it again. This will probably be the same.

True it didnt take long to complete Wij:)

The real toughy on the first game i found was killing sniper wolf, i didnt have a sniper rifle and u had to go all the way back to the tank hanger to get it.

Did you complete the game on numerous occasions to get the bandana, stealth etc???

the only way MGS2 could be better is if they allow you to use more of those explosives and allow them to all blow up at once. also i think they need to substitute walking around in a box with walking around in a recycle bin :)

There is no pc version as of yet, those shots ARE the ps2 version.

Having played the game myself, I can tell you that it's fucking incredible. It will be better than the first and the graphics are quite quite stunning.

Yeah Nath it does look incredible, should be much better than the 1st, im just wondering if it will be any longer though.

I doubt it. If they made it longer it would take 10 years to make instead of 3 :(

Okay, but standard TVs (even mahoosive ones like yours) only have 525 scan lines so can only have a maximum resolution of 640x480. Broadcasters don't broadcast in 1152x864 so why would a TV need it at extra expense? And the definition isn't anywhere near as sharp as a PC monitor

This is a concept my PS playing housmate just cannot understand. I think console gamers' eyes get tuned to seeing all their games played with a blur that after a while they just don't notice it.

Incorrect. Most decent tellies are capable of displaying XGA (1024x768). Some can even manage SXGA (which is 1280x960, iirc). Most/all tellies with VGA In will be able to display at XGA resolution.

No, you don't understand. When you go see a film at the cinema, it doesn't blur, yet it's only running at 48Hz? Television programmes don't blur, yet they run at 50Hz (or, if you have an NTSC telly and feed, 60Hz)? There are several reasons for this, including 'motion blur', smart interleaving, etc - effects that graphics card manufacturers would love to be able to replicate on PCs, because it would rid them of the need to have games running at 80Hz to be "flicker free". But, simply put, your eye cannot perceive any blurring whilst watching a telly, whether it's a conventional programme or a console game, as a result of it running at less than the max speed your eye can discern.

Like I said, someguy, I've seen metal gear solid on the ps2, and played it, and it looks fucking incredible, It looks better than the screenshots because, like stu said, they use motion blur, which gives it that subtle edge that makes it look SO much more real.

And moving target, MGS isn't exactly full of highly complex puzzles, but it's fucking good. Game's dont have to be brain taxing in order to be good... MGS is a fucking good game. If you don't like it, why are you looking at this thread?
