Hehe. I have to say when a cat scratches me I always scream like that even before I know it hurts. Its more of a case of screaming just incase it REALLY hurts and not wanting to die quietly.

when youve been around cats all your life you kinda relise what not to do, the cat was struggling to get away after being distracted by something (Probably another cat or a bird).

That woman was dozy :/ "oh i'll put a box over it which wont work because theres a huge pole sticking up! I'll just scare it some more". Once the cat got into the "Crocodile Death Roll" id of thought "right, fuck that im lettin go otherwise i may not be having kids ever again".

And yes, the deep grips hurt, but not as much as when the cat just nips you with the claw removing the top layer of skin... fucking. ow
