some menty mob notes

while im at it ill ask a few other menty questions -

different types of charm, the higher the lvl the higher the mana drain ? ie i should be using humanoids because they use less mana to keep hold of!

best xp spot i can think off is in meso chaining yellow oranges with pet skyros classes etc, anyone else got anything else I could charm till im able to tame the salamander?

anyone found any nice buffing pets that would be fun for rvr groups ? ie frontier mobs, or dare i ask healing pets in the frontier?

heres some suggestions on what ive found incase anyone else is interested -

meso mobs

- earth razers spam earth mobs and roots if you keep them on stay and stun the target (also give lvl 50 spec haste buff and lvl 50 dmg buff, like chanter ench buff, not baseline)

- nullifiers give full heals and they dot n mez

- tank pets do style but dont gaurd you (ok stating obvious) they generally suck

- stormbringers do yellow con stuns and good dmg with nukes

- still to find if any of the meso mobs will debuff my damage

- cabalists are uber but if you lose control of them and get it back, the cabby will stop attacking and the pet wont, the pet will use an ml9 ability and fill your lungs with water, so stun the pet if this happens and nuke like hell

- if this is useful to anyone ill make a big post after i get lvl 50 and try all sorts of mobs

Frontiers mobs

- earthshakers have nice high hps, good dmg and a lovely insta dd
- daughters of mebh, cruac warriors, humanoids, low mana drain and nice defense if you are a lazy xper who puts them on attack and goes afk :)
- if you are low lvl there is f all decent to charm, go mana till 40 odd :p
- in OF there were some nice cleric types that gave spec af and haste in hadrians, cant find them anymore though but im sure they exist ;p
- visually large mobs, total pain in the arse for targetting but looks the biz
- bananas , nice dd but high mana drain, ghostly etc and usually lvl 43/44

again, if anyone has any to add please continue....

Clicky

This tells you all mobs people have found in Toa for pets.

I use 48+13 light, have 10% spell duration.

Grab a salamander with 2nd / 3rd charm i think, then buff the hell out of it, stick dmg shield on it...go and have fun killing mobs.

The higher the spell (charm type) the more mana it uses, so better to use human or animal charms, salis come under animal and afaik stuff under the water is human so you shouldnt have any problems with mana, most of the time you actually gain mana during combat with your gheto MR from left over points in mana.
Best for TOA is 63/64 effective light, then you can charm most underwater stuff, salis and centaurs (also classed as human afaik).

a fairly accurate formula is:

safe charm = your own level x 0.6 + your spec level (trainings+rr+items) x 0.4

so for example my menta is lvl 47 with 18+12 light, i can charm lvl40ish mobs. a menta with 50+21 light can charm lvl 58 mobs safely

the general light-pve spec is 48 light 24 mana for the second hot and third mr and a bit higher charm.

My mentalist is 50+13 light, I can charm level 54 mobs pretty safe. Salamanders are of course the best petchoise since they got a huge amount of hp and af, but I also use gorgon maidens in Green Glades (yellow/orange con to 50) or giant scorpions in Stygia (those that roam around haven, usually level 52 to 55).

The empyrean elders near one of the scath towers can buff spec dex/qui, str/con and af buffs, and they stack with normal drood buffs. It can heal aswell when you have less than 50% health.

In Frontiers i found that the Templar mobs, is very good, many Hps and hitting VERY hard... a good rvr spec is 46 light 28 mentalism(for demezz), and i can charm sallys

The mobs in hadrians who is buffing, is called Priestess, they are at the same spot at templars.

I AM small
