If you're talking about the PS2 stick with the official one as the other one I tried was crap and required a cd in the drive at every power on.

BUT, if you bought an unofficial product for say £15, then not long after you bought it, it stopped working (talking from experiance) then u either decide to buy an unoficial one, and risk it been shitty, and breaking easily, or you buy an official one, with guarentee etc

I know which one i would choose now

You can fit loads on it though. I have all 12 games saved on it (bar smackdown which has a stupidly large save)

Also it is better. As instead of using blocks to fill it, it uses the specific ammount of space (kb). So if a game doesnt use much space, on the old cards, it would have had to use a full block, but the new ones allow it to take only the needed space. This makes it cheaper as you don't have to buy a new card as often as there aint no blocks to fill. :D

Iirc the story of the "no more non standard memory cards" began when sony realised that they were getting beaten silly by everybody and losing a revenue stream because of it.

So for the PS2 they built in some proprietry shite which is part of the reason why you can't save PS1 games onto PS2 memcards.
