+melee skills

Have had a surf around, but cant find the grab bag answer. Can anyone remember whether +melee (introduced in 1.64) includes polearm and 2h or not?

I think every skill that has melee styles. So 2H and Pole as well, same goes for Shields.

Deffo includes polearm, 2h, LW etc, and deffo doesnt include DW, LA etc.

Dubious about shield though..

No shield, no parry, no leftaxe/celticdual/dualwield (except h2h which is also a primary hand weapon).

Abit unsure about alb/hib 2h-weapons, but it would be brilliant for polers/2hander alb tanks if it includes both types.

Q: On the Sidi Inf boots, it says +3 ALL Melee Skills yet Duel Wield isn't listed. It's a speccable melee skill with its own styles the same as CS. Both are dependent on a secondary spec like slash or thrust, yet DW isn’t included on the Royal Assasins Boots. Will this be changed?

A: The phrase "all melee skills" is a little misleading, sorry about that. Check the patch notes again, where we explained what the new +melee bonus did:

"- ALL melee weapon skills - This bonus will increase your skill in many weapon types. This bonus does not increase shield, parry, archery skills, or dual wield skills (hand to hand is the exception, as this skill is also the main weapon skill associated with hand to hand weapons, and not just the off-hand skill). If your item has "All melee weapon skills: +3" and your character can train in hammer, axe and sword, your item should give you a +3 increase to all three."

Perhaps a more precise way of putting it would be to say that +melee grants you a bonus to your handheld, close-quarters weapons

Doesnt actually say anything about pole, but i'd guess it would be included in +melee. Maybe have a root around on the fighter forum on vnboards?

it said it regarded all skills regarding determined WS, and polearm is WS.
