I wanted to see the effect of melee resist, so I dueled my BB and pally:

Pally with no gear: BB does 150 damage straight
Pally with 25% melee resist only (2 bracers + ring): BB does 150 (-X) damage, where X is between 60 and 120 - the 150 is constant.

Isn't it wierd that with melee resist, the BB still hits for 150 damage straight? Or have I missed something here...

Your BB was hitting for capped damage both before and after the 26%resists. Capped damage is not reflected by resists

But why is the X changing then... isnt it 26% resist constantly ?

Think of it this way: without armour your resists doesn't work.

The damage the buffbot will of been hitting for will of been varying. You don't see this because the minimum damage he was hitting for was still over the cap.

example:

Buffbot hits for 400 - shows: 150
Buffbot hits for 800 - shows: 150

with resists

Buffbot hits for 300(-100) - shows: 150(-100)
Buffbot hits for 600(-200) - shows: 150(-200)
