+melee on sidi stuff post 1.64

not 100% sure what this +melee does

Does it just raise crush/thrust/slash or does it also add to 2h and pole if applicable?

but not dual wield! Can remember sanya told something bout it in a grab bag a few weeks ago

found the grab bag, read:

Q: On the Sidi Inf boots, it says +3 ALL Melee Skills yet Duel Wield isn't listed. It's a speccable melee skill with its own styles the same as CS. Both are dependent on a secondary spec like slash or thrust, yet DW isn’t included on the Royal Assasins Boots. Will this be changed?

A: The phrase "all melee skills" is a little misleading, sorry about that. Check the patch notes again, where we explained what the new +melee bonus did:

"- ALL melee weapon skills - This bonus will increase your skill in many weapon types. This bonus does not increase shield, parry, archery skills, or dual wield skills (hand to hand is the exception, as this skill is also the main weapon skill associated with hand to hand weapons, and not just the off-hand skill). If your item has "All melee weapon skills: +3" and your character can train in hammer, axe and sword, your item should give you a +3 increase to all three."

Perhaps a more precise way of putting it would be to say that +melee grants you a bonus to your handheld, close-quarters weapons.

Slash, Crush, Thrust, 2h, Pole, CS, Flex are afaik

Not cs, as in critical strike afaik.

Other things that have been effected have damage variables etc, so assuming CS does too ;o

Looking at the Royal Assassins Sleeves(1.64 sleeves), they still have + CS. Wouldnt that be + melee if CS was part of the +melee stuff ?

Not sure, it's not specific to a damage type, universal bonuses etc.

+melee doesn't mean that all +crush/slash/thrust/2h will become +melee and seeing +CS is like DW according to Mythic it's not included in +melee.

Another thing, since pole usues a melee spec as base dmg it won't be included in +melee, nor Alb 2h. LW in Hib and 2h in Mid will however since 2h in Mid is part of the same melee as 1h and Hib LW doesn't need a base spec.

I think Critical Strike isn't included Yussef,

if it was -> +CS would be removed from the item

if it isn't and they removed +CS from the item -> someone's SC template get's screwed up

CS and Flex isnt included.

The + to melee was added so that alb tank's suffering from the Dreaded Double Speccing wouldnt have to suffer even more when doing SC suit's that include sidi part's + making sidi suit's better than crafted etc :D

Would be to much to ask if SC's could craft them gem's to, because as it is now we have to add an additional +11 melee type :x while warrior's and hero's are laughing ther azz off with + 11 main dmg type and if they have spare imbue some base melee :mad:

h2h is included which is an independent damage line etc, surely flex is too?

Flex is a class unique spec as unto H2H so it will be included in +melee.
