Meeting a lamer in real life

While chatting to a friend of mine he told me about how his younger brother + his friends found it a laugh to abuse / flood / spam the channel4 chat channels, and the huge amount of fun they had.

Then he said they had started to get into gaming and are doing the same on game servers.

This means If I go over to my friends house I could:

A) Talk this guy around and explain why what he is doing is lame.
B) Tool up and give him a good kicking. Releasing all the frustrations that dedicated online gamers have to face because of this type of lamer.

What would you do if you came face to face with some of the lamers that love screwing up games for other players?

I sometimes imagine/fantasize that these little shits are sitting in the same room as me playing their game...and that I just lean over and clock them one right in the face. Just so they understand who exactly it is they are fucking with.

Under ordinary circumstances, I would just stab them in the face...repeatedly.

Armed with a white board and some dry markers, I'd highlight exactly what was wrong with their attitudes, and how it doesn't promote gaming as a new and valid experience.

Then I'd pick the white board up and twat them repeatedly with it. Well, there's only so much learnin' you can give 'em.

Difficult one this, I guess it would be nice to get them to realise the error of their ways by talking them round. But, my experience is that people like that are just too bloody thick to understand the lameness of their actions. So, a damn good kicking with spiked running shoes is the only option left.

I have a close friend who I introduced to Counterstrike a few months ago. I made the mistake of starting him on a server which allowed Friendly Fire, and he (using my nickname) never killed any enemies but massacred loads of teammates. I asked him what the hell he was doing and he said "I just like the idea that some sad bastard miles and miles away who plays this 24 hours a day, is getting really pissed off with me because I keep killing them."
This is not an isolated incident. I have other good friends who, when I have introduced them to the idea of online games, have continuously camped, spammed and teamkilled their way to making me compulsively snatch the mouse back off them.
Online lamers are rarely as lame in real life as you imagine them to be. You see it time and again. Someone comes into an IRC channel and starts calling everyone FAGOTS!!!!!!!!!!!111111, while an offline friend (a channel regular, naturally) tries in vain to excuse their behaviour with "he's alright offline, honest".
It is just something we all have to accept - that most people still feel they are superior to other internet users, and still feel they have no need to take responsibility for their online actions.
So no, don't beat them up. Or at least, not until they become notorious and you can make a proper example of them. :)

personally, I'd try to get as far away from them as I could before my restraint wore too thin.
then again, violence solves little, but reasoning with a dedicated lamer helps just as much :( worse luck

There is one particular member of that unleet group I'd like to take and stake out under a dripping waterpipe, just so that a large drop of water would hit him between the eyes every 20 seconds. I'd leave him there to pine away...
I'd prolly also shoot him in each kneecap. Twice. Just for that 'feel-good' rush :D

that's an idea. I could ask for a glass of water. Go near his PC and accidently trip and splash his machine (always exposed) with it? :)

If the lamers want to be lame let them. Get their IP and while they are busy laming, hax0r them and delete their system files. Even better, upload something embarrasing to their parents profile and put some pr0n on their mums desktop. They screw me, I screw them right back.

You're all ignoring the point I was trying to make - that these people are not necessarily idiots. They may come across that way online but if you met one in RL you wouldn't be able to tell that they were the same annoying twat who had bothered you on a CS server all last night. It's all very well saying that if you met a lamer you'd stick a skewer down his japseye or whatever but in the end there's every chance that in reality he's a perfectly decent human being, who could be persuaded to curtail his lame actions without violence.

then I shall rephrase:

something to ponder isn't it?
would you resort to violence&mayhem to show an someone who happens to behave like an idiot when he/she is online the error of his ways or not?

-but-

why bother at all cos most of the blethering online idiots behave the way they do because [I imagine] they enjoy getting a rise out of people. They can't do it in 'the real world(tm)' because then they will quite probably be held to account for their actions in a manner that they will have to deal with. On the internet they can do it 'safely' [from their point of view I guess heh] cos they can't be held to account [ie. no one will walk up to them, grab them and w00p their ass into the ground]. It's a problem the internet has had since it's beginning and to counter it the 'ignore/kick/ban' routine has been developed. The only thing is, it doesn't solve the problem :(

His brother is around 17/18. If he was 12-15 I might of understood his problem, but at 17/18 you'd think he'll of grown out of it :|
