I Don't Get Groups.

Wheather it be because of class or level, i find it impossible to get groups since Df has opened. The normal answer to this is to create my own group, which i then do.....just to have the Bard/Druid/Warden stolen from me by a higher level group 5 mins later.

Night shades bring good damage to a group and are great for grabbing adds that attack the healer's / mages's and are needed for RvR , but it seems i'll never help to my full potential there thanks to a lack of levels against my inf and sb nemesis's

I'm lvl 36, am i really that bad a character class to not get a group??

<p.s i expect this to be followed by a host of threads saying "we always have Shades in our group....... if this is the case am i just unlucky >

Trust me, all Assasins got this problem.
The History of my Shadowblade reads kinda like this :
level1-21 : solo
level21-26 : group (group was started by the buffbot of a hunter)
Level26-41: solo with a glimpse of grouping (maybe 2 bubs per level at most with group)
level41-42 : Guildgroups and some soloing/farming
level42-44 : Exping in Epic Zone ... being one of the first to log in there

Assasins are fun to play, but a pain to level.

NS are one of (if the only) class to be pure RvR. For xp'ing we really suck, dmg output is far too low to make any impact.

Instead you have to work hard on making yourself essential to friendly groups. Use pois, and even without protect-guard-thingie, look after the casters and healers.

Keep up with your friends list, they're the ones who will level you and invite coz you know each other. I made most of 35-45 thru friends thanks to them i got groups.

You'll get levels where you find yourself in limbo, i'm at 45 and can only really find lower groups. Higher groups all look for that magic L50, so it's the usual mix of healer/caster/tanker, with bubbles and end being nice to haves.

So last 3-4 wks i've been playing my alt, got fed-up with 3-4 hrs everyday trying to get into groups (and i do mean lots of waiting). Already love him for the ease of solo and groups. Think he'll become my main character now.

In RvR, I always found myself being the target of higher Infils/SBs, bit like casters coz we're weak. When I got 45, this suddenly stopped

Well lvling is as fast as you got friends in the game
I always made sure i was good mates with most ppl, altough some still bug me

But in the end if ya mate is in a group and he happens to have a spot, hehe its yours

BTW: whoever that NS was i killed yesterday in DF (was blue con) grats! for making it all the way there wonder what all those albs were thinking to let you slip by so far... :sleeping:

Well M8 one of my Guild M8s is a night shade lvl 40 and hes damn usefull in Grouping! Damn poisons are usefull and he even has a taunt so he tends to look after me as im a ment and the Fighters look after the druids etc ...

Also hunted with a few other shades like BlackOut who are well hard so really you should not have a prob getting groups if you do its cause people dont know your tue power ;0)


And you are a very powerfull RvR char, if yu were good at XP also it would be unfair to other chars ;0)

I would say at your lvl people probabaly have not done much RvR so they do not know the true power of the shade, be sure that as soona s you start to do some RvR and people rely on your skills to smell the enemy you will find yourself grouping regular again ;0)

Any way cheer up m8 your world is about to open up soon stick it out and be strong ;0)

hmmm, at my level i have done alot of RVR, its what keeps me going, but i still miss out on way to many groups, i have nearly hit rr 2 from several red/purple casters

but the lack of groups is just appalling for me. saps my energy to play and drains my soul

Yeah it's quite sad, hard to get group for shades in 30es level range it seems (yes, i'm playing one as well ). One day, one day Hibernians will realize what a dreadful mistake they've made, when a horde of infiltrators walks over them, repeatedly, singing "it's a long way to tipperary" hopelessy off-tune.

Keep defence at crauch four days ago, we had a team of 8 people in there to defend, two of which were shades, I took one climb point while lairiodd took another.

I saw at least 5 different infs attack us, niar, camillo, vestax the others names escape me, i managed to unstealth almost all people who came up the wall. however then 3 of them decided to attack me at once.

A few minutes later our defense force was dead.

I feel sad about the way that most shades get treated...but there again i would since i am one.

I hope this is a joke Anpu . Its true that blademasters got problems but we're excellent tanks in xping due to our speed. Taunting is really easy and fast.

Yes, I know that, I made most of my levels with a shade and a blademaster in group Both can tank pretty well with my bubble and since I usually have a full ench specced chanter with me they put out some serious hurting too

Hey, I don't a have a problem grouping shades. Szley, Eoli, Basil, Shikaku and others can testify that I've a welcome for a shade as long as there's a slot.

Don't underestimate shades, guys, they are quite decent tanks, and while they are not quite as durable as heros and champs, they sure can grab the aggro and dish out damage.

(Actually Cher, I think I may have grouped with you in DF, but couldn't swear to it ... )

Yup I love shades

Should have seen today when I was in group in CF with Nimrodel a 45+ Shade and he tanked the fins, along with a guard from me and a bubble they are excellent. Get MORE shades in your group.
And Cher at your lvl I think people don't really know the true power of a NS, hell people at 45+ don't know their potential.

Let's hope that I might have turned some "No I don't have space for a shade in my group" people

NS makes perfect casters guards too, put your NS next to the void eldie for protection and he'll get the aggro of him very quick.

Hello Cher,

You're not the only one having problems getting groups since df. I'm finding it hard to get groups as well and I'm a lvl 38 bard.

Only got groups twice outside df and not a single group in df itself
If not for some nice Black Shield peeps I've grouped since my wee days I would have given up on Leah a long time ago.

My advice would be to try to find some people around your level and to try to group with them as often as possible. Failing that stick it out till all the fuss about df dies down and people start xping outside again.

And if you ever need a hand give me a shout and I'll be more than happy to help. I certainly have no problems grouping with nightshades and have spent most of the time playing Leah grouped with nightshades

I think a big problem is that Hib have many players in 40+ that have not done much RvR. It's all about being lvl50 fast. I mean for me a big part of the game is to take on higher cons in RvR. Ok I have gotten my little champ butt kicked hundreds of times, but I laughed almost all the time doing it. Started RvR below 30 and ALL was purp to me (well ok the times I managed to stay alive to Yggdra all was not purp) With this not saying I am good at it at all just that it opens your eyes for how the end part of you chars career works.

IF you have done your fair part of RvR at 35-40 you WILL group shades if the group is not severly unbalanced and in need of a healer or a nuker, they will save you in many many many occasions out in keep defence or regular RvR if they get some lvls.

The group thing is NOT a NS problem as I see it, its more a mentality that all that matters in this game is lvl50....which is kinda sad...I am LW specced champ and find it a bit hard to find groups to. All want wardens, pbae and sheild tanks atm since that is the fastest exp. With only those chars in RvR Hib will have serious problems with winning battles.

Invited 4 shades into our fins group yesterday. 4 shades, 2 druids, warden and me. That worked ok. When 2 ppl had to log and we were down to 4 shades, druid and ment it got ... interesting.

It's kinda unsettling when the purple mob is charging down on you, the druid is behind you out of view, and there's on-one else to be seen.

What you mean you cant get groups - me and plum were grouped with you for ages. Not our fault your now 6 / 7 levels above us - you could come and power level us though .

Joking aside - I know how hard it is to level when you cant get groups. I play a ranger and lately I can only get guild groups , no-one else seams interested in us, and seeing as at my level im stuck with irewoods outside of cain its akward when maurading purple trolls keep crashing the party (and a stealther has a death warrant out on me).

Having solo'ed a nightshade pretty much from all the way to level 29 i know how frustrating it can be mate, but stick at it, there is light at the end of the tunnel. And honest that its not the train.
