Well as of Tuesday I shall be Departing for India to spend some travel time during my gap year.

Great thing is its mid 30*C over there, so nice and hot. YaY
Trekking the mountains, going Goa, Mumbai(Bombay), Delhi etc should be an eye opener.

In India avoid the so called "Official Government Tourist Offices". They will not give you the best deal and charge you a lot more than you would usually pay.

Travel by train is the cheapest and is not too bad. Get yourself a Train Timetable book from the station as this is very valuable when planning your trips!! There is usually a foreign tourist quota on trains and also a special counter/office where you can buy your tickets...

The advice you receive from people you meet is more often than not correct but just be wary of being led somewhere where they will try and sell you stuff you dont want!

Not if you drink some strong alcohol before you eat anything...I took some schnapps and had a tot before eating anything...

Also try not to eat meat...and always have bottled water
