Anyone good with Maya?

Whenever i create a new polygon plane it has an old lambert attached automatically. When i delete the lambert, it deletes it off the original plane its meant to be on as well. The lambert is a .iff sequence. I have 2 different .iff sequence lamberts on 2 different planes, and it wasn't an issue when doing the second one.

Sucks.

Not much into maya, but is there a detach option? Atleast in Max there was an option to remove all links between objects.

It seems the lamberts are on autolink, so removing that or removing links one by one might work.

Can't you just make a new Ricky and assign it that?

Hmm. How about;

If you have a plane(etc) selected when creating a new, it links them? So have nothing selected when creating a new plane?

or

Copy the first plane, create a new plane, delete new plane lambert. This might delete the copy lambert, but leave the original intact?

there isnt that much satisfaction when all you did was place a blinn over the top and then relaised what an idiot you are for not trying it before!
