I had problems with max payne, it was all to do with their cd protection system, safegaurd.

A no cd crack fixed that. I am sorted for direct x and everything no errors there thankfully

3D Realms has just realeased a patch which addresses this issue, amongst others.

How is them patching it a sign it was released too early? Almost every game on the PC system gets patched after release, because bugs crop up, etc. It doesn't mean they were definately released too early, but that bugs can come up any number of ways. On any number of Hardware configurations.

It was not, read not patched before release, it was patched after release, not problems with the game but compatibility issues with cd protection and cd drives. Also a few people have the usuall my gfx card wont work under this configuration shit.

I dont use teh patched version, it doesnt fix gameplay issues, it fixes bugs that could easily have slipped through testing. Compared to all other games I have seen this year it is teh most finsihed product.

I rarely finish games due to boredom but i played max payne right through to the fantastic ending tonite. Love it!!

Bullet-time albeit over done in movies this days was a genius idea for a PC game, it really added a lot to the game and made some bits more fun.

Fantastic game, such a shame bullettime wouldnt work in multiplayer tho :/

Max really needs some laxatives tho, he looked consipated all the way through the game, ok so he's having a bad time but he should at least use the loo, i mean its not as if the game lacks them, far from it in fact...

Hi,
Just to let you know, all the people in Max Payne live here in Finland. That's right , Max was made here. Most of us are die hard gamers and are in the game. It took four years of development to get it down right. I praise the guys at Remedy for the wonderful opportunity to kill myself. (In the game, I am Pilate Providence a.k.a. "The Big Brother".)
Just to let you know, the guy who is potraying Max Payne is name is Sami. Glad to see people like the game and i'll pass it on to the other guys....

Most of the areas in the game are really detailed from New York. they went there just to map areas for the game. So, some places are detailed in the game.
