They picked a pretty shit release date for it tho I must say, 15th of May do they not understand a huuuuuuuuge chunk of their potential buyers will be bumming D3 on the 15th of may? It still looks fucking amazing tho tbfh!
D3 doesn't interest me at all, so i'll be playing this instead, whilst my mates play D3. Looks like they have worked hard to keep most of the Max Payne 'feel'
True, the Rockstar influence doesn't appeal to me, feels wrong, but if they can build on the original gameplay mechanics and basically replicate them with a modern update, I'm sold.
I didn't know that, that doesn't sound good The multiplayer bit is Ok provided the storyline is good, can't be fucked with GTA though, I don't want anything to do with GTA!
its hard not forgiving like first two games... i like the transitions but maybe a litle too much story telling and too little playing int he first two hours ...
the game carrys on the mantle well tho and its not a walk in the park and so far very story driven
I just finished it and I thought it was an excellent game.
It still feels like Max Payne, it doesn't feel in the least bit like GTA (the cut-scenes have that Rockstar sheen to them but that's definitely no bad thing). Why wouldn't they add a cover system? Shoot-dodging works as well as I remember it from the previous games, it can be more of a hinderance at times but overall it's still cool.
There were a load of cut-scenes but just sit back and enjoy them, they don't put them in for nothing. The use of glitchy video, really harsh chromatic aberration and stamping prominent words over the video all worked well to give it an identity and some great atmosphere. I especially liked the way they would jump around in time by having him in the same pose then and now so to speak (you get what I mean if you've played it) and changing everything around him.
I haven't enjoyed a game this much in a very very long time.
