You have put across both sides of what appears to be Albions biggest downfall in RvR.

I see it from a tanks point of view,I can now see it from a clerics angle after loch put forward the reasons for not rezzing etc.

However I went to emain yes`day, as soon as I ported I managed to join a group,which included a cleric,as we left apk a kobold runie was spotted,I charged into battle and apn mezz nuked mezzed nuked nuked nuked,as I neared my prey I was nearly dead, I clicked on my IP icon then killed the runie.

As I addressed the group with my victorious banter,1 of them replied (not the cleric) you had to use IP though (sigh).
Which riled me as I was thinking how did the runie get 4 casts off and our cleric didn`t manage 1 heal!!.which to me had nothing to do with preserving manna or anything else.

I think you should have definately left that thread open Matt, as it was 1 which needed as much positive input as poss imho.

Got no real reason why the cleric shouldn't have healed you there Max, but was just wondering if the runie actually 'mezzed' you? cos they can't

Runies have a root and a snare dd if they specced right, so either there was a healer that got away, or you were mistaken

probably a spirit master or another stealth healer or skald nearby.

Casters if they have high enough dex they can get off maybe 4 nukes in about 8 seconds.

cleric should have been with you the whole time though.

The group were right behind me,we saw the enemy I charge, or do we wait till more come,and get zerged, I can`t be everyones eyes, whilst in enemy territory be alert see enemy kill it,or be killed,we was standing at the bottom of apk hill when it happened, so not to much of a field of vision to be observing imho.

Yep nerf IP stick it on a 15 minute timer.

IP should definitely be removed though, tanks take waaay too much killing now.

IP is a must for us guys trying to get through a barrage of tanks to get to the casters etc,I hear what you`re saying though it is a nightmare trying to beat some1 solo who has it,I have about 5k hp`s when buffed and 9/10 times it still isn`t enough.

Also while we are on the theme a big salute to Scunner who battled in vain trying to save me on excal road yes`day,after I had bitten off more than I could chew.

I also think that many of these threads come about after peeps have just finished a bad RvR session,with steam still coming out of thier ears,and write stuff they maybe wouldn`t have, after a nights sleep etc.

Looking at what you guys have to do in 1 cleric groups it`s a thankless task,kinda reminds me of football,your team are about to score, lose possesion,the midfield/defence fail to regain ball,keeper picks ball out of net,who gets blamed???.

I guess it`s human nature that as long as we can blame someone,we will, and it makes us feel better.

RvR with IP = tanks get all the RPs. Tank with IP can take a barrage of nukes and several people beating at him. A caster can take about 3 hits.
The casters are dead within the first 10 secs of the fight half the time, you see a tank coming at you, there's not a lot you can do to stop him (especially as a hib without root - assuming he's been mezzed and either broken / purged, you can't mez, so without root there's just stun, which isn't anything like long enough to kill a tank with IP. )

We all get our rp`s through different scenarios,casters through keep defends etc,tanks through tanking,have a look at duskwave
and see which classes top the tree,its very seldom tanks get the rp`s, the day ra`s came into force RvR became RRvRR imho not just through IP.

Why is it that the other 2 realms dont seem to have as much trouble disposing of Albion tanks as we do thiers,find the solution to this and there will be more instead of methinks.

Its cos we stun the tanks and concentrate nukes on them

I often find myself running past the tanks who are busy slapping a skald about, straight to the casters

I get 5-10 caster slooking at me.

And I'm like... "oh dear"
If I'm lucky, I get time to use IP... but its not easy with teoz and sami both nuking me for over 500 dmg a shot

It also has to do with there being more tanks in midgard than albion - 3 tank classes and a semi tank (zerker), where albs only have armsman and gimpaladins, with the unusual merc thrown in here and there

oh, and mids are the melle realm too!

Hey I watched a very long fight where albion tanks fought hib tanks... and the hib tanks eventually won, but not before myself and the other casters had been slaughtered in the first 10 seconds.
Disposing of albion tanks is one thing, the real problem is doing it before they brutally butcher you.

Ok i'm a cleric and altough i try to help each and everyone as much as possible i can give 9 things that might be the problem for not being rezzed/healed:

1. Target not visible, seems to happen to me alot
2. Out of range, happens if group runs arround trying to get loads of rp's first
3. mezzed/stunned/poison/nearsight/other conditions, well it says it all
4. Being attacked by an enemy, well being interrupted doesn't make it easy to cast
5. Zerg of enemies camping spot of the dead, says enuff
6. Stealthers, hard to heal when a caster is getting nailed by a stealther
7. Healer wants to protect his group (if he has one) so healing/rezzing other peeps is kinda out of the question (never done this myself, but still abit understandable)
8. The healer has high hope for other players to come allong and rezz/heal the target, meaning they leave ehm.
9. and ofcourse, oop/lop

Ok might have missed some other options, maybe caus they are rare.
Hope this gives you peeps second toughts about clerics and other healers.

In a keep defence or milegate stand off casters will earn the RPs while the tanks leach, err sorry guard I mean. In open field RvR its a bit more even - don't complain that casters can't nuke tanks to pieces anymore before we even get within spitting distance, its not a lot of fun y'know.

Now every 30 minutes we have a chance of ganking some of you? Please, its hardly overpowered, instead its a much needed ability for all tanks.

They have better crowd control, and know how to use it.
