Thought i'd just post something on this guy, as over the past few months he has dragged himself up my favourit artists list, and i really believe everyone should give his music a try.

He is a hasidic reggae singer, but draws in from alot of other urban styles, and really has a powerful voice, along with the band it's amazing. He's much larger effect in the states than in the UK but i really believe that if people give his music a try alot will grow to like it.

He has a few albums out now, my favourit is "shake off the dust...arise" which is his first album, and i'd say this really carries the stronger message of judaism with aish tamid, tzama l'chol nafshi (psalm 63:2-3) and king without a crown, and got no water. but this doesnt mean you have to be jewish, or even religious to enjoy the music. His other album, "Youth" is more of a relaxed atmosphere, moving away from hadisic judaism, and instead we see just a message.

Matisyahu doesnt make you focus on the religion, instead, he draws focus to the spiritual, and afterall, it's nice to see someone giving a positive message doing well, after all, what positive message is 50 cent, snoop dog, the pussycat dolls, or 90% of those in charts giving to the youth? In matisyahu you've got an artist calling for revolution, but not just a liberal one, "young man, controls in your hand, slam your fist on the table and make your demand, take a stand/got the freedom to choose, you better make the right move" along with "burn away my brain, no way my brain is too compound". If you're looking for soemthing new to try out, give him a try :)

Songs i'd recomend; got no water, aish tamid, jerusalem, king without a crown and youth.
