So, trying to work out what a person owes me. Perhaps simple if I write it like this? I am Person "A", one who is owed. Person "B" owes me, the thing is paying for an apartment's rent and bond, of which oweing money to A from B needs to be calculated in order to equal having paid half of each.

B has given me £290, covering half of the remaining bond and up-front rent

The bond in total is £630
A has already paid £425 of this which leaves £205 remaining.
A and B each pay £102.50* to total £630

The first months rent up-front is £530
A has already paid £159 of this which leaves £371.21 remaining
A and B each pay £185*

*Totals the £290 at top

I have worked it out like this, but might be wrong

If A's portion of the paid bond atm is £527.50 out of £630, £315 is half so with B giving A £212.50 we're both then at, that correct?

Then out of the rent I've paid £185 + £159 = £344, £265 being half of rent = B would owe A £79?

Totalling £394.50?

So yeah, I kinda fail at math and have weird way of working things out ;o

the total of the 2 together is £1160, you've paid £4 more than half of that total so far (£584). Isnt it just easier to say he owes you £580?

Yeah just get him to give you half, pay the remainder to whoever you owe and pocket the rest which will reimburse the extra you've already paid out.

Aha, so you're working it out like this? Total being £1160, I having paid £425 + £102.50 + £159 + £185 (£871.50) the difference is then £288.50 to make £1160, though as I've paid more than half (£580, and have paid £871.50) I add the difference (£291.50) so £291.50 + £288.50 = £580 is what I'm owed to make it exactly half & half? :)

That is arguably the single most complicated way you couldve said it, but yes.
