0.
There is a clause that says X^0 is always 1 when X != 0

Is this algebra? If so you can fuck off posting this shit right now.
Algebra is wank and was the bane of my life at school.

Year 10? They had just started that bollox when I was leaving school. I prefer the old 4th year 5th year etc system.

I used to know about this stuff, can someone remind me quickly WHY x^0=1? as I said I used to know, but have completely forgotten the proof :/

I have to concede, I have no idea either (I did get it wrong). I could understand it being infinite, but 1? Not sure about that at all.

In any mathematical group G, x^0 is equal to the identity element, which in the case of multiplication with real (or even complex) numbers, is 1.

Hey, I got kicked out two years running!:clap:

As to why it's 1, I used to know, but it's long gone now. Funnily enough, I've never needed it irl. Like the Colour Sub-carrier Frequency - I used to know it to about 12 decimal places, now all I remember is it's 4.43 MHz, but I'm a little vague on what it's for...

All I need now is to know that with *this* lens in *this* projector with *that* size screen, the set goes *here*.

...I can still do pi, though! 3.1415926536etcetc

You're doing P6? Rah, what other modules have you done? I'm kinda glad I'm only doing single Maths: P1, M1, S1 (S1 is crap), P2, P3 and M2 next year :).
